The Isotherm combines a durable softshell plus innovative Alpha insulation from Polartec to give you a warm, wind-resistant, lightweight jacket that lives to ice climb, spring ski, cycle in chilly spits, or swaddle you on the way to dinner with you sweetie. The shell consists of Pertex Quantum fabric, a breathable bantamweight material with the strength of a heavyweight, resisting abrasions, deflecting the wind, and soft enough to caress the insulation without squeezing the life out of it. Shoulder reinforcements add protection against early wear caused by your pack straps rubbing against the jacket. The DriClime mesh transports perspiration away from your skin to prevent sweat-spawned shivers. An athletic fit and Angel-Wing Movement work together to eliminate excess fabric bulk while making sure that when you move, reach, and climb, the torso of the jacket stays put. Polartec has created yet another insulator, Alpha, and Marmot uses it in the Isotherm to your advantage. Originally created for US Special Operation Forces, Alpha insulation is similar to other insulators in that it uses air pockets to trap warm air against your body. Quick drying and highly compressible, Alpha works with the DriClime lining and Pertex shell to remove moisture from the jacket, even while you"re wearing it.
